Lothar Seruset is all about great history and very personal interpretation. In Hakenberg, the Brandenburg troops defeated the Swedes in the Battle of Fehrbellin in 1675. The artist shows an excerpt of it on a relief. The second shows military vehicles and helicopters, while the third shows a clip from the Balkan War. Plus two quotes from Heraclitus: “War is the father of all things” and “War is no solution” from photojournalist Anja Niedringhaus. Lothar Seruset turns the location into a big question mark. Who is enthroned on the pillar? A king? A simple man taking his place...?
