In 1865, on the occasion of the visit of Empress Elisabeth and to enable the many "Alpine people" to attend Holy Mass in summer, the couple Franz and Juliane Koch built a chapel, which was initially called the Koch Alpine Chapel.
In 1962 an agreement was reached between the ÖBF and the parish of Strobl, according to which the Postalmkapelle was handed over to the parish for use for religious purposes. The parish takes care of the maintenance of the chapel, which is what the Postalm Committee does.
The small house of prayer is now a jewel and many hikers come here, as testified by the entries in the guest books. During the summer, parishes or associations often celebrate a Holy Mass in this beautiful nature, which is always a special experience.
