On one of the hills in the Bukowa Forest, a place of worship was created by the followers of the native Slavic faith. The circle is marked by three wooden pillars with carefully carved faces of pagan deities. Next to them, there is a large stone that serves as an altar. On the altar, however, there are no blood sacrifices, but coins and other trinkets. In addition to the carved figures of the Slavic gods, you can also find runes and other ancient symbols engraved on the trunks. Although it is not certain whether the ancient Slavs had their own writing, historians claim that the runes were used in today's northern Poland until around 1000 AD. Slavic religion assumed the existence of many gods, and there was also some regionalization. For example, in the lands around Szczecin, Trygław (Trzygłów, Trygłów, Triglav) ruled, but on Rügen in northern Germany it was Świętowid, and in the area of today's Mecklenburg - Swarożyce.
