Tips

  • The Glashütte Observatory, opened in 1910, was used by Otto Lange and Herbert Wempe for watchmaking research in the late 1930s. The Second World War put a stop to these plans. In 2005, Wempe renovated the observatory and set up a chronometer testing facility. Since 2006, watches have been tested there in accordance with DIN 8319.
