The name of this hermitage is due to the marks on the rock on which it sits, which are said to be the marks of the knees of Santa Orosia, who stops there to pray for his fate and that of his companions who flee from the Muslim leader Aben Lupo. The latter, upon reaching the place following their trail and seeing that they have passed through there, flies into a rage and leaves some marks with his sword on the rock, also visible.
