The small town of Maranchón is situated at 1250 meters above sea level. In the same municipal area is the Maranchón mountain pass, where the Tajuña River is born. It is very pleasant to walk through the quiet streets of Maranchón and admire the stately homes built between the 19th and 20th centuries, as well as visit the beautiful church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción. It has a couple of rural houses, restaurants, a bakery and a public fountain.
