The outer walls and the millstone are still well preserved and you can see how the water mill worked:

The water was taken from the stream further up, led through a canal bed carved into the rock or built into the wall to behind the mill and from there it shot under the mill, where it drove a water wheel sitting horizontally on a vertical axis. The stone mill wheel sits on top of the axis. So everything without gears, transmissions or joints. Primitive, but evidently tried and tested, because the next mill was constructed in the same way.

On the way to the next mill you walk along the remains of the inflow canal.
