The name Lisowice, German name Lissowitz, appears already in the Latin chronicle from the years 1295-1305 "Liber fundationis episcopatus Vratislaviensis". In Latin Lisowice was called "Lyssovitz Polonico". Until the 14th century Lisowice belonged to the Polish kingdom and from the 14th century Lissowitz was under the rule of the Czech kingdom and from 1526 under the Habsburg monarchy. From 1741 to 1871 it was under the government of Prussia, and then from 1871-1922 of Germany. In the years 1922–1939 it belonged to the autonomous Silesian Voivodeship in Poland. The name of the village of Lisowice is one of the oldest names in the Lubliniec region and has been changed several times. In the past, this village had three hamlets and a colony, which today form a whole under the common name of Lisowice. The names of these hamlets are still present on maps. They have also retained their importance among residents, who use the old names more often than they do today. Naplatki, Zawada, Sówkowe. And finally the last "part" of the village, a newer 18th-century colony called Andrzejów or colloquially Handrystol, which means Andreasthal in German.

Church of St. Jadwiga of Silesia. The first mentions of the church date back to the 14th century. In the 18th century, the temple was expanded, but retained Gothic elements. At that time, it gained Baroque furnishings and architectural details.
