The Kleine Aue is a river that flows into the Rahden town of Preußisch Ströhen. It is the upper of the two tributaries of the same name of the Große Aue. The almost 19 km long river flows in the municipal areas of the towns of Espelkamp and Rahden in the East Westphalian district of Minden-Lübbecke in North Rhine-Westphalia. The source of the Kleine Aue is south of the Espelkamp town of Frotheim and about one kilometre north of the Mittelland Canal at an altitude of 52 metres above sea level. The river initially flows in a northwesterly direction, then predominantly in a northerly direction. In Espelkamp it forms the eastern boundary of the urban settlement area, and in Rahden it flows just under one kilometre east of the train station. After 18.97 km of flow, the Kleine Aue flows into the Große Aue on the eastern edge of the town centre of Preußisch Ströhen, almost 50 km before its mouth in the Weser and not far above the mouth of the Großer Dieckfluss:
