The source of Oliver is located at the top of the mountain at 670 m above sea level. It is located in a very beautiful plain next to the Creu path that goes up to the Creu de Santos.
The name comes from far away, although in the past it was not called Oliver (like the tree). The original name was the source of En Oliver, in reference to Bernat Oliver, a feudal lord who in 1207 became the owner of the territory of Cardó.
We find this source cited in a document dated 1589. During the Cardó spa (1866-1965) this source, like others in the valley, was fixed with the construction of side walls and stairs to get down to it . In total it has 9 steps. It was a place where spa users on their healthy excursions stopped to rest and have a drink. It's ripping again!
Finally, we will say that the Oliver fountain has been dry for many years, lacking its charm. But, the abundant rains of March 2022 have revived it with a beautiful and noisy roar. Its surroundings have recovered the enchanting atmosphere offered by a gushing mountain spring. The new and copious rains this April will ensure a good season. Great!!!!
