Along Via San Rocco, past the modern headquarters of the Raffaele Mattioli Scientific-Technological Centre, you come across Villa Frutteto, a building built for Diego d'Avalos after 1646. Prince Fabrizio Colonna received a sumptuous welcome in this residence in 1723 during his stay in Vasto to receive the collar of the Golden Fleece from Cesare Michelangelo. Today it is difficult to even imagine the original splendor.
