Noordoostpolder Wind Farm

There is a gigantic wind farm right next to Urk. The 48 windmills, each nearly 200 meters high, provide energy for some 160,000 households. So expect a big blow here.

ESPEL With an annual production of around 1.4 billion kWh of clean and sustainable electricity, the yield is comparable to the electricity consumption of more than 400,000 households. The Noordoostpolder wind farm thus makes a significant contribution to the goals of the climate agreement and is an important renewable energy source for the Netherlands. In addition, the wind farm provides jobs, attracts visitors to the polder and contributes in its way to the polder and the Netherlands at home and abroad to make known.
