In 1851, a floor slab with unknown characters was discovered in this 11th-century church, which is part of a former monastery complex. After detailed scientific investigations, it turned out to be a kind of room divider on which an inscription was deciphered as the oldest written document in Old Croatian with Glagolitic letters. The plate shown in the church is a replica. The original can be admired in Zagreb. The church can be visited for a small fee, including a knowledgeable guide.

Based on the stone slab, a Glagolitic alphabet was distributed throughout the Baška area. There are letters everywhere. In the tourist information you can get a sheet with the locations.
