The charming old town, completely rebuilt after an earthquake in 1979, contrasts nicely with the recently built hotels and shops. Of the city's frequently changing rulers, the Venetians left the most traces after they conquered Budva in 1442. Above all, they built many churches and also the city wall, which is still well preserved today. Also worth seeing are the three-aisled Church of John the Baptist (Sv.
