The church of the Evangelical Lutheran parish of Börnichen was built in 1900, the ceremonial inauguration took place on October 8, 1900, according to the parish's official website. The altarpiece, created by historical painter Ludwig Otto, shows a depiction of the words "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."

During the bombing raid on Börnichen on February 14, 1945, in which many houses were destroyed, the church was not directly hit. Nevertheless, altar windows with stained glass, windows in the tower and damage to the roof were destroyed.
