The meadow on the east side of the lake is hidden in the forest. There is a shallow sandy beach. When you leave the reed belt behind, it gets deeper. The Sumter Lake is not very big and probably not deep either. In the summer, therefore, the water heats up quickly and the algae grow rapidly, so that the water turns opaque green. I find it most beautiful here in the evening, because the sun is then directly over the forest on the opposite side of the lake and shines through the opening in the reeds.

A nice track and without a motor to drive well

The bathing area has a certain flair in terms of the view and the relaxed camp or rest. The sandy embankment, large enough for a relatively large number of people, and a bench at the top ensure relaxation. - Unfortunately, bathing here is a dubious pleasure, because the Summter Lake is terribly sloping and the entrances around the lake are deep and muddy. Only here is it quite good.

If you can't see anything at all at one of the deeper entrances, there is a danger of holes, glass, rubbish or roots. Apart from that, of course you don't want to sink deep in the first step! - In short: This is by no means the ideal bathing lake - unfortunately!
