Sant Roc Recreation Area and Hermitage

This recreational area located in the shade of holm oaks and pines is a very important area for the inhabitants of Paüls. Not only is it the venue for their parties, but it is also the starting point for several hiking trails. It has an untreated water source.

Unfortunately, due to the high temperatures in the morning, we had to turn back very early because it was far too strenuous for the dogs. Those who want to go on the tours here are advised not to go during the summer months, not even for the short tours 😉 We were here in June, unbearably hot, at half past nine...
Otherwise fantastically beautiful and highly recommended, well signposted. We will come back one day, in autumn or spring.

The recreational area of Sant Roc is located in the district of Paüls, next to the hermitage of Sant Roc. It is a shaded area of oak trees with a source of several springs that come out of the rock.

It is equipped with dry stone tables and benches, called corros. Each corro belongs to a family in the village and they gather three times a year to celebrate St. Roc's Day, St. Anthony's Day and Easter Monday. Behind the hermitage there is a small children's park.

It has barbecues, but for their use, permission must be requested from Paüls town hall.
