From 1952 the Schlosshotel served as a location for films and television productions; the most famous of which is the television series Ein Schloß am Wörthersee (1990–92); A commemorative bust in the café diagonally opposite the castle commemorated the main actor, Roy Black.

Roy Black attracted many guests with the film "Ein Schloß am Wörthersee". It is a 34-part German-Austrian television series that was produced by Lisa Film for RTL between 1990 and 1992. Roy Black stars in seasons 1 and 2. Due to the death of Roy Black in 1991, Uschi Glas took over the lead role from the third season.
