The Salzhaff with its adjacent salt marshes, dunes and bird sanctuaries is a special landscape. It was caused by regular flooding. Here you can observe many waterfowl. The shallow water - the average depth is four meters - is a mixture of salty Baltic Sea water and fresh water, also known as brackish water.

According to the German Weather Service, the Salzhaff has an average of 1694 hours of sunshine per year. The perfect place to experience a romantic sunset.

Beautiful place for kiting and windsurfing. Ideal Shallow area. Next door is San Pepelone holiday camp and Germany's largest windsurfing school. The Wegbelag the tour is changing between asphalt, sand and gravel. Good to ride on with a trekking bike.
