The two brothers-in-law, Angelo Buyse and Erik De Cuyper, brewed their first top-fermented beer in 1997 as a hobby. They produced their first beer with an eye to the best quality. This first beer was named 'Boerke'. Along with their beer, Brewery Angerik was also born. The name Brouwerij Angerik is a contraction of their two first names.

Around 2002, the Angerik Brewery moved to Dilbeek, where Erik continued to run the brewery on his own. Erik converted his former garage body into a new brewery. It was here that his beer became an unexpected success. In 2010, the demand for the beer became too great and production could no longer follow. The success of the brewery could no longer be combined with a day's job. Erik decided to reduce the production of the beer to a minimum.

At the end of 2015, Erik's son, Sam De Cuyper, took over and gave Angerik Brewery a second life. A new start also required new beers.
