Setting off from the car park for Barpa Langass on the side of A867 a short circular walk of two miles visits two prehistoric sites - the spectacular chambered cairn of Barpa Langass together with the only stone circle on North Uist.
The views are excellent but the walk is wet and very boggy underfoot in places, but with good paths to both the stone circle and the cairn. The route over the hilltop is pathless but waymarked by wooden posts.
Don't miss the stone circle which has a touch of magic about it.

The burial chamber is an imposing structure up on the hill with great views over North Uist.

The chambered cairn dates back 5000 years which makes it one of the earliest standing building in Northern Europe. It used to be open but due to instability it's now closed.
