    The climb to the hut is a bit strenuous, but the view from the terrace is stunning: a wide view of the mountains, valleys and (still remaining) glaciers in the heart of the Ecrins. The very inconspicuous architecture of the building, which looks almost like a stable on the outside, serves as avalanche protection. The hut was renovated in 2017/18 and is now a friendly and highly functional accommodation inside. In summer it is open and offers cuisine with organic products from the region, exemplary. Starting point for high-altitude tours in the peaks around Barre des Ecrins. temple-ecrins.com

    Update June 2024: due to the storm disaster in the Vénéon valley, access is currently impossible and the hut is closed.
