Gardening, experiencing nature, relaxing, meeting, exchanging ideas, being together and experiencing something - you can do all of this in the Großlohe community garden! The association “InGa (Intercultural Community Garden) Großlohe e.V. is realizing its gardening dream on a 9,000 square meter arable area.

The “Green Fuge” borders Großlohe to the east. The “Green Fuge” is a compensation area for the expansion of commercial areas. The community garden is located in the “Green Fuge” (south of Stapelfelder Straße, adjacent to the strawberry field and the skate park of the JUG youth center).

The garden is available to both the residents and the district's facilities and is a garden that is managed and supported collectively through voluntary commitment.

In the spring of 2022, the non-profit association “InGa” was founded to promote the project, and in the spring of 2023 it started in the field. Areas were paved, a well was built and a container donated by the Alt-Rahlstedt parish was set up as a storage room. There are communal beds, a herb garden, an apiary and plots for residents and facilities.

All gardeners and those who want to become gardeners meet on the first Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. in the Großlohe meeting point.
