The former ferry dock (in operation until 1970) in Petershagen is still clearly visible: the paved road leads down to the waterline of the Weser, the high-rope mast and the historic ferry boat "Schorse" have been preserved and today "decorate" a handsome rest area. From here you have a beautiful view of the Weser, across to the old Lahde ferry house on the opposite bank and to the nearby Weser bridge, which has replaced the old ferry connection between Petershagen and Lahde since 1970. You can also see the well-fortified, castle-like water side of Schloss Petershagen from here. A quiet place on the edge of the old town, just a few meters away from the lively Weser promenade and the beautiful beer garden "Zum Alten Fischerhaus".
