The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Białogard was built at the beginning of the 14th century, after the city was granted Lübeck city rights in 1299. However, it had already been a place of pagan worship before, and later the location of a chapel built by St. Otto of Bamberg in 1124.
