This lighthouse on the Vieux Môle or Old Pier was constructed in 1835, nearly 200 years ago, and marked the beginning of Saint Nazaire as s harbour. Up to then it had been a small fisherman ‘s hub, but with the creation of this pier, rivercruisers could now dock, creating a harbour for passenger transits.
