In 1876, A J Woodhouse opened the Barrow Brick Company brickworks on Walney Road, Barrow, where ASDA now sits.
The Barrow Brick Company remained there until 1972.
Hundreds of these bricks - used to build many homes in the local area - now litter the beach at Selker Bay.
