The grazing area at Yak Kharka lies at an altitude of about 3,800 m high above the village of Marpha at the Thak Khola / Kali Gandaki Valley. Yak Kharka serves as a campsite for trekking groups. Close to Yak Kharka, one has great views down to Jomsom in the Thak Khola / Kali Gandaki Valley and Yakgawa Kang (6,481m), the mountain north of Thorong La (5,416 m) - the famous high pass of the Annapurna Circuit.
