Today's Brohl harbor was created in 1868/69 when the bulk material was piled up to form the protective wall that is visible today when the fairway was deepened. The natural water basin, which has always been used as a natural protective harbor in the event of high water or ice, has become a permanent harbour. Today it is federal property. For a long time, its original function was the loading of raw materials from the phonolite delivered from the Brohltal and the Eifel lava such as trass, tuff, lava and basalt rock delivered by rail. Water bottles from the Brohl Mineral- und Heilbrunnen GmbH Brohl-Lützing were also loaded here in the past, and large quantities of wood were also handled in the Brohl port until the beginning of 2007. The rocks were then transported on the Rhine to Rheine, where Lava-Union operated a large storage facility.

Hafen Brohl is a historic harbor located in Brohl-Lützing, Germany, along the Rhine River. Originally built in 1868/69, it served as a natural protective harbor and a key site for loading raw materials like trass, tuff, lava, and basalt. Over time, it became a hub for shipping and trade, connecting the region to broader markets.
