The ramparts are probably best explored by mountain bike.
Cycling is now prohibited there. It's better to explore on foot. Mountain bikers have caused too much erosion.

Beautiful forest area along the Berkel from Stadtlohn towards Vreden!
Invites you to go hiking! Cycling is best in dry weather! Mountain biking is always possible though!!! Good connection to the cycling areas

The Hünenburg is a Carolingian complex from the second half of the eighth century. It is recognizable as a double wall system. All of the walls were accompanied by ditches on the outside, which are still recognizable today as hollows. Overall, the complex is comparatively well preserved. However, no remains of any buildings have survived. However, you should explore the complex on foot as cycling is prohibited within the complex.More here:
