On the mountain meadow path created in 2011 you hike through a wonderful variety of flora and fauna. The path leads you to the Harzer Bachtäler nature reserve and along the idyllic meandering Rappbode. Numerous information boards tell you exciting backgrounds about the uniqueness of the Harz mountain meadows, their history, but also their endangerment.

As part of a project by the Harz Regional Association for the Protection of Nature, a mountain meadow nature trail was created near Benneckenstein in 2011, inviting visitors to discover and enjoy the mountain meadow world in the Harz Mountains. The 5-km circular trail leads visitors around the Pfeiferberg mountain and through the "Harzer Bachtäler" nature reserve. Along the trail, five information panels provide information about the mountain meadow habitat and the species found there.
