There are two ways to visit the Neptune Grotto. By boat or on foot over the almost 700 steps. We walked because the path carved into the rock is simply breathtaking! When we arrived at the grotto, we saw how the small boats tried to let people out over a long, extendable jetty. Because the ship cannot dock because it would be cut open by the rugged rocks, the propeller always has to turn backwards and creates a strong current in addition to the sea. The boat rocked up and down at the bow like a swing for at least 3m. It was not possible to go ashore! We were glad that we had been on foot, even though the walk was strenuous. 2nd tip: definitely book tickets online and get there as early as possible. Otherwise the line of cars on the road will be kilometers long! 🧜‍♂️🙋‍♂️
