View of the Pasterze Glacier

The observatory has great views, is informative and definitely worth a visit

Beautiful view of the glacial lake below the Grossglockner.
The hike from the viewing platform down to the lake takes about 20 - 30 minutes if you are fit.
The weather can change quickly, which is why rainwear makes sense despite the weather forecast at any time of the year.
The way back to the top takes about 40-50 minutes if you walk vigorously.
Some of the stairs and paths are a bit loose and better to walk on with hiking sticks.
However, the path is still highly recommended, as it includes very beautiful views and you can also see a marmot here and there.

If you follow the signpost Pasterze to the left, you will get directly to the glacier. You can then walk along this back to the Gletscherbahn.
