Bike Touring Highlight
Great view of the new ICE Erfurt-Ebensfeld line, part of the new Munich-Berlin high-speed line (4 hours driving time). In operation since the end of 2017, only with many malfunctions, breakdowns and delays, now seems to be running. At this point you are above the exit from the Bleßberg tunnel, at about 8 km the longest tunnel on the new route. You look at the Truckenthal Bridge and see the entrance to the next tunnel on the other side. It's amazing to see how much has been invested here for large valley bridges and tunnels. If you are lucky, you can see an ICE train racing at speeds of up to 300 km / h. Maybe take a break at this point and wait a bit, here you have a pretty steep climb, no matter which direction you come from, the more enjoyable the descent afterwards.
