Hohenzollern Castle in the Baden-Württemberg municipality of Bisingen is the ancestral seat of the formerly ruling House of Hohenzollern, whose younger line provided the Burgraves of Nuremberg in the 13th and 14th centuries, the Electors of Brandenburg from 1415, the Dukes from 1525, and the Kings of Prussia from 1701, as well as the German Emperors from 1871 to 1918.

The previous buildings, constructed in 1267 and 1454, were almost always owned by the older, Swabian Hohenzollerns. The current neo-Gothic three-winged complex, the third castle on this site, was built by Friedrich August Stüler from 1850 on behalf of King Frederick William IV of Prussia and completed in 1867. Notable features include the Treasury, the Count's Hall, and the Christ Chapel. With around 350,000 visitors a year, it is one of Germany's most famous tourist attractions.

The castle stands on the 855-meter-high, isolated, prominent Hohenzollern mountain cone in what is now the Zimmern district of the municipality of Bisingen in the Zollernalb district of Baden-Württemberg. It is a relict hill, situated at the foot of the Swabian Alb.

It's impressive when you visit the castle, almost a thousand years of history come together there, I feel respect for it.
