The Schutzengelweg begins at the valley station on the Tegelberg and ends at the mountain station Tegelberg. Its length is about 5km and meanders steeply uphill about 903m. From the valley station, it goes through the nature reserve Ammergebirge. With his various charts he spans an informative arc from the hunters to the present day. This path offers a breathtaking view of Neuschwanstein Castle and Hohenschwangau.

The view as you ascend Tegelberg is increasingly amazing, as you see your last pitstop get smaller and smaller, and the taste of Weissbier fade. Do not fret - there is more consumption awaiting at the top with spectacular views of this mountainous region.

The Rohrkopfhütte (1,320 m) is located on the Schwangau Tegelberg near Füssen in the Bavarian Allgäu and in the middle of the small but fine ski area of the Tegelbergbahn. Both in summer and winter, the hut is a popular place to stop for hikers, skiers and winter friends. But sights such as the Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau castles are also nearby.
Above all, the Kulturpfad Schutzengelweg, which starts at the valley station and leads past the hut, makes the hearts of hikers beat faster. The path is very interesting and informative thanks to various display boards. The boards provide information about the Romans, the royal family and the economic situation in earlier times.
