This mill was built in 1891 by order of H. Porskamp and G. Berendsen. In 1941, flights and tails were removed; what remained was the white hull with hood and shaft.
The roof was repaired in 1963; In 1979 a complete rehabilitation followed and "De Volharding" became a complete windmill again. The mill subsequently changed hands two more times.
It is played regularly.
The current upper axle, judging from old photos, must have been installed between 1918 and 1925; Until that time the mill still had a wooden axle and rods.
