Before World War II, Dr. Miroslav Hirtz (1878-1944), a well-known scientist and travel writer, a mountain hut on a 26 meter high rock. This bears his name today and is considered the lowest mountain hut in the world. From the beach in Jablanac there are only 122 steps up to the cabin. It is also the starting point of a marked hiking trail that leads to a beautiful viewpoint and to the Alan mountain hut in Velebit. The hike takes 4 hours.source
