World's first sanctuary for Tadpole Shrimp. Proven in 1963, in 1982 the Lower Austrian Nature Conservation Union and the State of Lower Austria bought the site. Since then, the association has looked after this area.
The powder tower has nothing to do with the former powder factory at Pipitzhof. Built around 1900 for security reasons as a powder depot for ironmonger Adam Meixner.
