Peace Chapel Dorst

The chapel was built in 1955 to a design by sculptor Jac Kreijtkamp. That is thanks to Sister Reinilda. She was a district nurse in Dorst and Molenschot for many years. She was much appreciated for her great efforts, especially during the difficult war years. As a religious, she saw it as her task to work on her faith. That servitude had to be rewarded at her farewell, it was felt in Dorst. But Sister Reinilda did not want a present for herself and came up with the idea of building a chapel of peace. So it happened that a beautiful statue of Mary was placed in the chapel. The chapel was solemnly consecrated in 1955.
