Cycling

This is the largest construction in the Channel Islands, covering an area of 7000 square metres (75, 347 sq ft), and was dug out of rock by slave workers of many nationalities from 1940 onwards, taking over three years to complete. It could have easily accommodated 500 patients, but was never substantially used. Today it is a major tourist destination for those who are interested in the War and Occupation of the Channel Islands.

We found it very interesting! The atmosphere is dark and gloomy and appropriate for the place. You go through it alone and take as much time as you need. We were particularly impressed by the dingy, gruesome bedrooms where the beds were still standing. How could anyone ever have gotten well here?
The entrance fee is very cheap and you can also buy a coffee.
