The Stümpelsche mill is a bit hidden, it is worth looking up 📷.

The Stümpelsche mill on the upper course of the Pader reminds that the people of Paderborn have used the hydropower of their river intensively for centuries. The mill bears its name after its former owner, the Müller Stümpel, who lived and worked here around 1800. The Stümpelsche Mühle is the last of the originally five mills that were once operated in the urban area of Paderborn. It has the largest undershot water wheel in East Westphalia-Lippe. So the water flows under the wheel.
However, due to noise immersion, the mill was shut down.
In 2015 plans were approved that imposed soundproofing on the historic water wheel and since then the wheel has been used to generate electricity.

Small, very rustic cafe with a mill wheel and a very good menu. We recommend
