Kieffer Commando's Monument:
In a beautiful park on the coast lies this monument of the No.4 Commando's of Lt.Kieffer, who came ashore in the early morning of June 6, 1944 to neutralize the batteries of Ouistreham.
The monument is located on a German 644 bunker that was part of Stützpunkt 08 HKB Riva Bella. The Stützpunkt with 6 pieces of 155mm guns served to defend the entrance of the river Orne and the canal.
The Regelbau 644 is a "Stand mit 6-Schartenturm in A".
The stones in front of the monument bear the names of the fallen French commandos of June 6, 1944.

The monument commemorates the victims of the Forces françaises libres during the landing of the Allies on 6 June 1944 in the area of Ouistreham. The stela "La Flamme", created by Yvonne Guégan, is dedicated to the troops under the command of the French commander Philippe Kieffer.
