The fort was probably built during the Flavian period (69–96). The garrison site was probably abandoned during the reign of Emperor Trajan (98–117), when the Kapersburg fort was built. A wooden watchtower was then built north of the fort site, which was later replaced by a square stone tower, probably during the reign of Emperor Hadrian (117–138). The dating of a hexagonal wall foundation in the middle of the small fort, which could have belonged to one of the rarer hexagonal watchtowers on the Limes, is unclear.
