The post mill originally comes from Treuenbrietzen. It was no longer needed there due to the new construction of the Dutch mill. It replaced a mill that burned down in 1892. The miller Gensike bought them and moved them to Marzahna at the location of the burnt down mill.
In 1994 and 2001 it was completely renovated, the wings were renewed after a storm damage with the help of local initiatives and sponsors.
