The bivouac was built in memory of the member of the Susa Section who died in 1994 in a winter ascent to the Grand Hoche (Beaulard). The work was carried out with the contribution of the Province of Turin and the Alta Valle di Susa Mountain Community and built by volunteers from the Susa section of the Italian Alpine Club and from the Exilles and Susa stations of the National Alpine Rescue Corps.

Very nice hike with a challenging last stretch; well marked trail. From the Sigot Bivouac, you will enjoy a spectacular view of the Val di Susa.

This is a small, well-maintained bivouac, equipped with the essentials (eight to ten beds, a table, and a couple of chairs). It's reachable in about a three-hour strenuous climb from the Galambra valley below (Levi-Molinari refuge). It's an ideal spot for beautiful high-altitude climbs between Punta Sommellier, Passo dei Forneaux, and Cima del Vallonetto. From Passo dei Forneaux, you can descend into Valle Fredda, reaching Rochemolles and Bardonecchia via an easy trail. From Cima del Vallonetto, you can traverse toward the Seguret valley, reaching either the Galleria dei Saraceni (with the option of returning to Exilles or even the Levi-Molinari refuge), or continue at altitude toward Colle del Vin Vert, reaching the beautiful military road that climbs to the Jafferau fort, with the option of descending toward Bardonecchia. There are many options, but be careful when crossing from the top of Vallonetto, as the trail is exposed in places. Unforgettable views (in good weather...)
