The Kirchderner Graben in Dortmund is part of an extensive renaturation project by the Lippe Association, which aims to return the former "Köttelbecke" to a near-natural state. The project includes the conversion of a total of 7.5 km of water, of which 5.3 km is the Kirchderner Graben. Around 12.6 million euros will be invested in ecological improvements with the aim of increasing the living and leisure value of the neighboring districts and bringing nature back.
