A journey through time, with a beautiful Romanesque portal.

The (Protestant) town church St. Petri is an imposing brick building (brick Gothic) was built in the early 12th century (the basilica, which was originally made of field stone) and in the early 13th century (the west building with the two brick towers).
I was there for the first time on my bike tour today (on 08/24/2020). I would have liked to see the inside of the church, but unfortunately I was there too early in the morning when the church was still closed (opens at 10 a.m.). Since I still had a long bike ride ahead of me, I didn't want to wait that long. But I will definitely cycle to Seehausen again soon and then take a look at the church from the inside and of course take photos.

The city's landmark, visible from afar, with its 65 meter high towers was built at the end of the 12th century. The wood carving altar dates from the middle of the 15th century. Climbing the towers to the former watchman's apartment (still inhabited until 1958) at a height of 45 meters offers a wonderful panoramic view of the Hanseatic city of Seehausen
