Embark on a captivating hike along the dramatic Cornish coastline with the Cadgwith, Housel Bay & Lizard Point loop from Ruan Minor. This moderate route spans 7.9 miles (12.7 km) with an elevation gain of 669 feet (204 metres), taking approximately 3 hours and 29 minutes to complete. You will experience spectacular views of the English Channel, winding past picturesque Cadgwith Cove with its fishing boats and quaint cottages, and the beautiful white sands of Housel Bay, sheltered by high cliffs.

This loop is considered moderate, requiring good fitness due to sections with elevation gain, rugged coastal terrain, and steep climbs, descents, and steps. You should be sure-footed and wear sturdy shoes, as some tracks can flood after heavy rain. The trail combines natural footpaths, gravel, and some paved sections, showcasing the varied landscape of the Lizard Peninsula.

Beyond the natural beauty, the route is rich in history and unique features. You will pass the historic Lizard Lighthouse, guiding ships since 1751, and the dramatic collapsed sea cave known as The Devil's Frying Pan. The trail also takes you by sites of historic wireless and signaling stations, including the restored Marconi hut, and leads to Lizard Point, the most southerly point of mainland Britain.
