1013 Barfelde was first mentioned as Berivilti. By merging several farmsteads in the middle of the 19th century by Adolph Freiherr von dem Bussche Haddenhausen a larger estate was formed, for which he acquired in 1861 the knight's voice of the abandoned by Hakeschen court in Dassel. His son Clamor of the Bussche Haddenhausen sold the manor even before the First World War.

A monument commemorates the foundation of the municipality Despetal 1974 with the arms of Eitzum, Barfelde and Nienstedt. Source Wikipedia.
